Resonance Frequency Breathing

The scientifically verified health benefits of meditation are overwhelming. Best of all it’s FREE:

The best way to breathe for your physical health is called Resonance Frequency Breathing. This is because of a phenomenon the Heart-Math institute calls “coherence” where the blood pressure, heart-rate variability, and respiration all synchronize into coherence, and your relaxation and repair mode skyrocket up.

As you can see from this chart, there is a breath rate in which your Parasympathetic Response (Relax and Repair Mode) skyrockets up several times higher than normal. This is where and when your body goes into a rapid healing mode.

This is a chart of someone’s respiration starting at 7 BPM (Breaths Per Minute) for a while, going down in .5 increments all the way down to about 4.0 breaths a minute.

LF frequency is the Parasympathetic response as measured by a Heart Rate Variability Monitor. This person’s “spike” was about 6.7-6.8 Breaths per Minute.  The Heart Math Institute calls this state Coherence and in short amazing things start to happen.

As you can see above the biorhythms synchronize and in this state, your body switches into rapid healing.

Within 4 days ImmunoglobulinA or IGA, the primary marker of the immune system by 50%. No drug in the world can do this. The body can’t heal when we have the Sympathetic (Fight/Flight/Freeze) response system activated. Our entire adaptive immune system is off.

It’s very rare to find a practitioner skilled in helping you find your Specific Resonance Frequency Breathing Pattern, but we can get close enough. What you are going to do is watch this video and breath as smoothly as possible when it tells you to breathe in and out. One of these rates (7.0 or 6.5 or 6.0 or 5.5 or 5.0 or 4.5 or 4.0) is going to feel really good and feel very relaxing to you. Even without an HRV monitor and experienced practitioner, about 50-75% of people are able to find this rate for their bodies.

Once you find this rate for your body, breathe this way for 15-20 minutes a day in a meditative fashion. This will rapidly heal your body. When you breathe do deep diaphragmatic breaths where you keep your chest almost still and push your stomach in and out and let the diaphragm do the “work” instead of the chest/lungs.
