“Several studies in humans have shown that lifestyle interventions can significantly decrease toxic inflammatory response. For example, researchers did an interesting experiment on ten healthy humans in Denmark. They injected low-dose E. coli toxin (without the bacteria) into the subjects and measured for inflammation response after three hours of bed rest. After several weeks, they repeated the study in the same subjects and told them to exercise as hard as they could on a bicycle for three hours. Interestingly, the level of the marker for inflammation was fourfold in the resting subjects and there was hardly a blip in response to those who exercised. This would suggest that exercise increases lymphatic flow, which helps with toxic clearance.”
